This is what I’ve been going on and on about last week to friends– The Miss USA 2008 pageant!
I was recovering from an allergy test gone wrong last week and had the privilege to stay home, curled up in my doona and snub off Dr Phil in favour of the pageant.
I’ve never found anything so hilariously amusing!
Yes, the annual competition brought forward the tannest, slimmest, big-haired contestants with the most vaguest answers of America.
It seems like the general consensus was that all the contestants had dimples or amazingly sculpted cheekbones, had a Bachelor of Broadcast Journalism or International Relations, a tan ten times deeper than mine and collagen and silicon implants everywhere.
I sadly nodded off after the swimsuit competition, much to my dismay. But before I did, I had a few giggles watching this cameraman (intentionally? Unintentionally?) take a close up shot of Finger Eleven’s drummer between some contestant’s legs
I mean, was he being artistic? Was there some meaning to it?

And my personal fave – when Miss Tennessee knocked over Miss Mississippi’s boobs. Totally intentional, methinks!
