Since I’ve been awake for fewer hours than George has spent behind the wheel of his taxi I decide to agree.
“Greece is far away from Australia (Pink Floyd step through the speakers and start telling all the teachers listening to leave any kids they may be hassling kids alone). I‘ve been here for a long time now, 30 years, I know because I saw Hair before I got on the plane. Before I landed at Tullarmarine”
“When I got here in 79 everyone was talking about LSDs. You know LSD?”
I don’t know LSD personably, but we’re having such I nice conversation it would be nonsensical to upset the flow
“Yeah. LSD. I know it.”
“And grass. You know grass”
Why not?
“Yeah I know grass”
“No one talks about that anymore. The kids smoke grass like cigarettes”
Yes the kids have all lost their way.
“You know all the bands in the seventies were involved on the Grass and the LSD. Most of them would never have made such great music without them. You know the Beatles went to India. The were on it every day”
“Yeah that’s right. George learnt to play the Sitar”
“Yeah the yellow submarine really means the place you go to, like the afterlife when you meditate, those Beatles were in India for six months. Tim O’Leary says you can get there in half an hour with LSDs. It’s sad because that music will be lost forever”
