The new Collette Dinnigan lingerie line for Target range came out today. The website screams "Worth Collecting". I think not.
COLLETTE DINNIGAN for Target
It was, as I predicted, nothing special. Nothing spectacular. More like the same lines of “youngish” Love Kylie and a bit of the “mature” Elle Macpherson thrown in: overpriced wired underwear with the oldish looking lace that resembled a flower on a bra, and something to cater for the young ‘uns: the animal print set.
In fact, the range looks exactly like any other lingerie line there was in Target that I was having a hard time discerning which was the “special designer” rack from the normal Target rack. Of course, the small crowd of ladies milling around the section helped.
Sad to report that when I went down during lunch hour in my local Target (Melbourne CBD - Bourke St), there was no kicking, no fighting, no stabbing anyone with a blunt Nine West stiletto.
To be honest, I was surprised that all were calm, subdued, maybe a bit short of breath as they scampered towards the fitting rooms with about 5 sizes of each bra. This was a far cry from the Target Stella McCartney range that had everyone scurrying for cover as customers fought over racks of clothes and Ebay was kept busy all night as people started selling the range for more than what it was worth.
The new Designers for Target range is a bit so-so, and if you rely on the opinions of the fashionistas from the Vogue Forums, this year’s release was exciting to start off with, but there are still quite a few who were not tempted to let go of their moola.
